BioTactics: Browser Information |
Thank you
for visiting our site. You are using:

Browser Notes:
- The primary objective of this site is to provide valuable
content that is unique as well as provide easy navigation for most of our customers.
Therefore, this site uses special formats and programs in JavaScript
and ActiveX to enhance content. JavaScript requires Internet Explorer (I.E.) or Netscape
Navigator 3.0+, and ActiveX requires Explorer 3.0+ or Netscape with Active X plug-ins.
The plug-ins can be obtained free from Microsoft. Both
JavaScript and ActiveX are powerful tools that will be used extensively in the future at
many web sites. If a link specifies that I.E. or Navigator should be used, please use ONLY
that browser, or you may experience problems when loading the page.
- ActiveX Issues- Some IS departments will
not allow Active X to be displayed in web browsers because there have been some security
risks associated with ActiveX applications in the past. That is, unscrupulous webmasters
have written small programs that caused harm to the viewers computer when they are viewed
on the internet. There have been no known problems with the ActiveX applications at
BioTactics. However, wherever possible an alternative in Java has also been provided (for
instance the annual calendar). In truth, there are also
"security" risks with Java, but few IS departments realize it, since these are
not as well known.
- In order to display Active X or JavaScript
applications in your browser, go to Control Panel, Internet, Internet Properties,
Security, make sure Active X and Java are checked in the "Active Content" box.
You may wish to disable these controls when visiting web sites of businesses you do not
know well.
- Older Browsers: To improve viewing for most
visitors, this site uses nested tables which may not display properly in some older
browsers. We apologize to those users that have difficulty accessing or viewing pages on
our site because of this special content.
